Multimedia Routine
The goal of the multimedia routine is to transition children into a large group with videos that encourage active student participation. The videos can be played offline and ad free. As a routine they are played daily over the duration of the unit.
The Lights and Letters multimedia routine includes the videos Watch the Letters Get Down and A is for Apple. The multimedia routine can be downloaded for offline use. ​​​​​​​
Watch the Letters Get Down is performed by Anthony Broughton (MiSTER B). MiSTER B. uses a catchy toon to encourage students to dance and move around while working on their letter sounds   Anthony Broughton's work can be found at MiSTER B Inspires.
A is for Apple is a phonics song with a picture for each letter. This is designed to help children learn the sounds of the letters in the English alphabet. Written and performed by A.J.Jenkins
Group Time
Students play an interactive activity of Jumping Bunny in which they take turns reciting the alphabet. On random turns they see a jumping Bunny and the students stand up for a short movement break of Jumping Bunny before continuing in activity.
Students can play a small group activity of Alphabet Bingo. Teacher can use magnetic letters or letter cards to call out corresponding letters.
